Yes, we bought one in Milan, whilst on holiday, and it too did not work. Fortunately, we checked it workings whilst still there. It was our base electric unit that was faulty – they swopped it. Very please with this great coffee maker.

I had an electric Bialetti previously but I was told by someone not to clean it too thoroughly inside so it would maintain the coffee smell. For me, after some years the coffee tasted too bitter. This one is fine and I will maintain it differently now.
