Located in Eastern Uganda, The Coffee Gardens coffee company has been operating since 2017. It seeks to produce delicious specialty coffees marked by the highest degree of traceability, and grown ethically and responsibly. To The Coffee Gardens, cultivating coffee is a communal effort: the farming families that supply beans to the TCG washing station are all settled in the mountains above it, so complicated supply chains are here replaced with neighbourly warmth and a spirit of camaraderie.

At such close quarters, maximum freshness can be ensured with relative ease. Ripe coffee cherries get transported to the TCG washing station mere hours after being picked. They’re then depulped, pre-washed, allowed to ferment, soaked in cold spring water, and fermented gently again for forty hours before undergoing another wash. Caffeine is afterwards extracted using the innovative sparkling water decaffeination method, designed to preserve all of the finest flavours and aromas.

This coffee will turn out amazing regardless of how you brew it, yet its light roast makes it suited particularly well for filter coffee makers and French presses.
