Have your mornings been particularly tough lately? You can forget all about struggling to wake up: just have a bag of this delightful coffee sitting in your cupboard! A chocolatey foundation coupled with a bright burst of cranberries, apples and some citrusy acidity… Now that’s the perfect start to a smiley day. 

These unique coffee beans originate from Katanda, a region located near the beautiful Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda. Around 1000 smallholder farmers are hard at work cultivating coffee here: this is done on numerous small parcels of land, each varying in size from 1 to 4 acres. High altitudes and genuine passion allow the locals to produce truly unique flavours—it’s no wonder that Ugandan varieties are nowadays known and appreciated by coffee connoisseurs all over the world!

Once harvested and delivered to the local Nyabirongo washing station, the coffee cherries are depulped, left to ferment for around 24 hours, then dried on raised beds or mechanically. This lengthy process lets the natural flavours of the beans develop, while the light roast selected for this particular coffee allows the aromas to bloom and unfold in all of their fabulous glory.

This coffee will turn out amazing regardless of how you brew it, yet its light roast means it’s suited perfectly for filter machines, Chemex coffee makers and French presses.
